Education, Libraries & Cultural Affairs

The Education, Libraries & Cultural Affairs Committee (ELCA) meets at 7:30 pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

To be a liaison between the schools, the parents and the community as to the free exchange of educational ideas, to analyze and explore present and new programs and the introduction of the educational school and district leaders and their plans for their schools.

Our focus on Libraries is to work with the New York Public Library (NYPL) to deliver high quality services through our local branches to meet the diverse needs of all segments of our community.  We will advocate priority status for budget requests that are consistent with improved services.

We seek opportunities to include the arts and cultural affairs in community facilities and public spaces and support and encourage city and state cultural programs that impact our area.
