MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD CHAIRPERSON

The members of Bronx Community Board 8 are volunteers who strive to represent the interests and needs of our community district’s residents, institutions, businesses in Fieldston, Kingsbridge, Kingsbridge Heights, Marble Hill, Riverdale, Spuyten Duyvil, and Van Cortlandt Village.

We play an important advisory role, mandated by the New York City Charter, that impacts land use planning and zoning matters, city budget, municipal service delivery, certain state and local licenses and permits and quality of life issues for those who live and work in our district.

CB8 hosts monthly committee and board meetings open to the public on issues in the community, acts as your representative to ensure NYC services are accessible and responsive, and seeks broad community engagement in order to have a complete perspective on where and how to take action.

The application provides a wealth of information including the locations of schools, day care centers, senior centers, libraries, hospitals, subways, and more, as well as links to Web sites for these facilities.
